MATERIALS

Needles and Notions:
• 3.25mm (US 3) needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).
• 2.75mm (US 2) needles.
• Yarn needle.
Yarn:
50 (60) metres (55 (66) yards)
Suggested Yarn:
Any DK yarn will fit the measurements. The grey set (pictured above) were knitted
in worsted weight, which is slightly roomier but also creates a denser fabric.

Gauge:
20 STS stocking stitch 10cm (4”) on 3.25mm needles (or size needed to
obtain gauge)

INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 31 (35) STS with 3.25mm (US 3) needles.
Row 1, 3, 5, 7: Knit.
Row 2: K1, M1, K14 (16), M1, K1, M1, K14 (16), M1, K1.
Row 4: K2, M1, K14 (16), M1, K3, M1, K14 (16), M1, K2.
Row 6: K3, M1, K14 (16), M1, K5, M1, K14 (16), M1, K3.
Row 8 : K4, M1, K14 (16), M1, K7, M1, K14 (16), M1, K4.
Rows 9-18 : Knit.
Row 19 : K27 (29), SSK, turn.
Row 20 : SL1, P7, P2TOG, turn.
Row 21 : SL1, K7, SSK, turn.
Repeat Rows 20 and 21 6 (8) times (34 STS).
Next Row : SL1, P7, P2TOG, K to EOR (33 STS).
Change to 2.75mm (US2) needles.
Row 1 : Knit
Row 2 : *K1, P1, repeat from * to last ST, K1.
Row 3 : SL1, *K1, P1, repeat from * to EOR.
Row 4 : SL1, *P1, K1, repeat from * to last ST, K1.
Repeat these last two rows 8 (10) more times.
Cast off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff (see tutorials on YouTube).
To finish, sew up the back and foot seam. Turn over cuff.

Abbreviations:
EOR: End of round.
K: Knit.
M1: Insert the right-hand needle tip from front to back under the bar between the
stitches and knit it.
P: Purl.
P2TOG: Purl 2 STS together.
SL1: Slip 1 ST
SSK: SL1, K1, pass slipped stitch over.
