Simple Quilted Potholder
Materials
4 strips of light to medium weight cotton fabric, each 9"×2.75"
9"×9" piece of light to medium-weight cotton fabric Two 9"×9" piece of cotton quilt felt (Choose Warm and Natural
Sever brand.) 4"–5" strip length Note: All seam allowances are 1/4" unless otherwise stated. Quilt felt. Place a second strip of fabric right side down on top of the first strip and pin. sew, then unfold and Press it flat with an iron.
Step 2:
Place a third strip of fabric right side down on the last strip you sew and pin in place.
Repeat the same sewing and pressing routine in step 1.
Repeat with the fourth strip of fabric so that the entire square of the quilting is covered with the sewn fabric strips.
Step 3: Lay the 9"×9" fabric square right side up on top of the remaining quilt batting square.
Place the patchwork square right side down on top of this stack.
Place a short strip on one corner of the fabric strap with the raw ends sticking out about 1" from the outside of the square.
Pin all the edges of the square, then sew all the edges of the handle. Sew the edges as you begin,
starting in the middle of one edge and leaving a 3-inch opening to turn the pot holder inside out.

Tip: If you want the pan holder to be even more heat resistant, you can also add an Insul-Bright layer at this point.
Step 4: Press the potholder flat, then topstitch through all layers about 1/8" from the outside edge.
This will close the opening in Step 3 and provide a nice decorative look.
Continue topstitching across all layers.
I made simple lines from side to side, backstitching at the beginning and end of my stitch — in any pattern you wanted.
